Description[]

Arms are melee weapons and equipment used to deal close-ranged damage to enemies, as well as to pick up items and interact with objects. You switch between them using the G key by default. As of patch 14c, punching with an arm can be bound to a button, instead of using a key for swapping and another for punching.

Types of Arms[]

  • Feedbacker (Blue) - V1's original arm; It does low damage, but it attacks quickly and can Parry.
  • Knuckleblaster (Red) - A slow but powerful arm taken from V2, able to cause damaging shockwaves that push enemies back.
  • Whiplash (Green) - A grapple arm also taken from V2, that can pull in small enemies and pull you towards big enemies. It's bound to its own key (R by default) so it can be used alongside other arms. It can also pick up and place skulls and candles.
  • Under Construction (Gold) - Unknown/Not Released
  • Spawner (White) - A special arm available only from the cheat menu. It has multiple uses, with its main function being to spawn additional objects onto the map. Unlike other arms, this one takes the 6th slot and can be used alongside other arms.

Trivia[]

  • At the Terminal, it is possible to unequip all Arms. While disarmed, V1 is still able to interact with the Terminal thanks to their latent psychic powers, but cannot interact with items nor perform any melee attacks.
    • Attempting to punch without any arms equipped will result in a message saying "CAN'T PUNCH IF YOU HAVE NO ARM EQUIPPED, DUMBASS" and beneath it, "Arms can be re-equipped at the shop"
    • Additionally, when tossing a coin using the Marksman Revolver, the coin will appear from the middle of (what we hope is) V1's chest instead of being flipped by the off-hand. A similar effect happens while using the Dual Wield power-up.
  • Arms are depicted in an abnormal order of coloring, being Blue, Red, Green, and Gold instead of Blue, Green, and Red. This is because the second arm was dropped by V2, who is red, before creating a replacement arm that happened to be green.
  • The arms will be the only weapon to receive a gold variant; other weapons formerly had placeholders for gold variants displayed at the Terminal, which have since been replaced with buttons to access weapon info and color customizations.
    • The number of variations was cut down from four to three to avoid obsolescence in the arsenal caused by design overlap.[1] Additionally, the problem of cycling between four variants on the same weapon slot is circumvented.
  • Despite being a variant of the Shotgun, the Jackhammer can be counted as another arm, due to it's original location.
