ULTRAKILL Wiki

Demons are creatures native to Hell. They either form from Hell mass or are formed from sinners or their remains. Demons have thick stone-like exteriors.

Description[]

Majority of Demons are formed when hell mass is poured into a stone shell, and as suggested by the openings on Hideous Masses, the Leviathan, and the Minotaur, have blood-red and fleshy interiors. Demons are stated to be more intelligent than Husks, but appear to still have more animalistic intelligence, lacking rational thought and communication. They still seem to still be intelligent enough to master the usage of Hell Energy, and in case of Cerberi, be neutral to Husks, as many are dormant and guarding the places where many of them are meant to be present, like Ferryman's Ship.

The most common Demon is the Malicious Face, although a large number of Cerberus are present throughout Hell, albeit in a dormant state. Greater demons, such as the Hideous Mass, are rare occurrences. Demons are notable as being slow yet sturdy, and they have a tendency to become enraged (with the exception of Mannequins, who are extremely mobile in their movement and attacks). Almost all demons encountered thus far have been fought first as bosses.

Whether if hell mass or the creation of demons can be manipulated or control is unknown. However a redacted individual had successfully created the Minotaur

Trivia[]

  • The Demons in general exhibit resemblances or incorporate elements from iconic works of art.
    • Malicious Faces exhibit features reminiscent of Easter Island moai, such as their prominent brow, flat nose, and, notably after a model update, curly hair akin to that seen on many Greek statues of Hermes.
    • Cerberi appears as a simplified rendition of "The Thinker".
    • Hideous Masses bear engravings resembling "The Creation of Adam" on their forearms, depicting God on one hand and Adam on the other.
    • Idols are intentionally crafted to evoke the image of the Virgin Mary cradling Jesus.
    • The Leviathan's heart, a conglomeration of absorbed sullen souls, is portrayed as perpetually screaming, akin to the famous painting known as "The Scream" by Edvard Munch.
    • The Mannequins pay homage to the Venus de Milo but subvert its defining trait: while the Venus De Milo lacks arms, the Mannequins possess an excess of arms, formed entirely from forearms with hands serving as joints.
    • The Minotaur appears to draw inspiration from the gruesome torture device known as the Brazen Bull, mirroring its bull-like features and described by its sculptor as "a personalized monument of death and despair" in its lore entry.
  • Overall, most of the designs of the demons are a nod to the designs of Angels from the Bayonetta series.
