Wrath

Wrath is the fifth layer of Hell, and the second layer of Act II, located between Greed and Heresy. Wrath is reserved for those who were angry or otherwise "wrathful" in life. The entire layer is actually the River Styx transformed into an ocean (referred to as the Ocean Styx), with most of the husks within the layer fighting one another for a spot on the surface so they can breathe. Despite this, a number of houses exist both below and above the surface.

There are a few new enemies found within this layer. Sentries are first introduced somewhere in [ 5-1: IN THE WAKE OF POSEIDON ]. The Idol is introduced during [ 5-2: WAVES OF THE STARLESS SEA ], as well as a boss fight against the Ferryman. The Leviathan is the final boss of this layer, and is fought in [ 5-4: LEVIATHAN ].

There are a few new mechanics introduced in this layer. Hookpoints were seen at the end of Greed and are a common occurrence starting in this layer. Wrath also introduces blue Hookpoints that propel the player. Blessed enemies are also first seen here alongside the Idol introduction. The Rocket Launcher is also found in this layer.
