The Knuckleblaster is the red variant of the Arm, obtained after beating V2 in [ 1-4: CLAIR DE LUNE ]. Punching with this arm will deal heavy damage and send enemies flying away, but cannot parry.
Description[]
Slow punch with great damage and knockback.
Hold Punch to blast shells inside the knuckles, causing a shockwave that knocks surrounding enemies away.
- The Terminal.
The Knuckleblaster is a robotic arm stolen from V2. It sports a red and gray color scheme, with three clawed fingers, two exhaust pipes hanging off the side, and a slot on the top of the forearm that exposes the mechanical insides. There are two "knuckles" from which shotgun shells explode and eject, with two additional screws adjacent to them. When reloading, the vertical slot on the forearm pulls back, likely indicating some sort of mechanism that replaces the shells.
Mechanics[]
Pressing the melee key (F by default) while this arm is equipped will punch with a slower rate of fire than the Feedbacker. Holding down the melee key will make the Knuckleblaster create a shockwave that pushes back enemies and deflects projectiles, albeit with less accuracy compared to the Feedbacker. The shockwave deals 1 point of damage to enemies. Directly punching enemies will deal 2.5 damage.
Some enemies will explode upon dealing a killing blow with a direct Knuckleblaster punch, giving the player over 100 health.
Chainsaw Launch[]
Using the melee to "Parry" the Sawed-on Shotgun's chainsaw will detatch and launch it. See this page for more info.
Orbital Launch[]
When the shockwave hits a Coin or Core Eject Shotgun core, it will launch it away.
When you use the ability right when the shockwave happens, you can launch the ability extremly far away.
Primarily used on Coins to setup an Orbital Coinstrike.
Strategy[]
Creating a shockwave with this arm is useful whenever you're in a tight spot. If you're on a platform or near a hazard, you can easily use the shockwave created from your arm to push back enemies or to make them fall, as well as deflecting any projectiles in a radius slightly farther than the parry range. This is especially useful against Mindflayers, as their spread of homing projectiles can be quickly dispersed by a Knuckleblaster shockwave. The Knuckleblaster can also instantly kill a large group of Filth; a fairly easy way to gain a lot of style points is to ground slam into a group of Filth, then kill them with the Knuckleblaster shockwave as they fly off of the ground. This gives you the style bonuses [+MULTIKILL], [+FIREWORKS], and [+EXPLODED]. Sliding underneath an enemy and punching them at the bottom will send them flying away; similarly, a downward-angled shockwave can launch multiple enemies high into the air at once. This is especially useful against Stalkers and Sentries.
Deflecting projectiles with the Knuckleblaster's shockwave can be used as an alternative to parrying them; though it does require even tighter timing and does not heal you or restore your stamina, it has the ability to send multiple projectiles back at once, which may be more valuable depending on the situation.
The knuckleblaster's shockwave is one of the few attacks capable of destroying an Idol and the only one of them with significant area of effect. This is especially useful when multiple Idols are grouped together such as in later waves of the Cyber Grind.
Directly punching Filths, Strays and Soldiers with a Knuckleblaster will make them explode, completely filling up player's health at standard and higher difficulty, and giving over 100 health at lower difficulties. It also works on weakened Streetcleaners and Schisms.
Knuckleblaster punch has enough knockback to send any ground-based Medium-Weight and lighter enemies flying, if the punch does not kill them.
Trivia[]
- The inspiration for the function and the name of the Knuckleblaster was the manga Blaster Knuckle, in which the main character uses a gauntlet with four gun barrels mounted on top.[1]
- In its second encounter, punching V2 with the Knuckleblaster will enrage it, likely out of sheer outrage at being hit with its own arm.
- Most people would be mad too.
- In the Terminal, the order of the arms should be blue, green, red, and gold, but is instead blue, red, green, and gold.
- The Knuckleblaster is technically the first red variant of a weapon to be added to ULTRAKILL.
- The Core Eject Shotgun's grenade and Marksman Revolver coins can be blasted away by the Knuckleblaster shockwave.
- The latter can be used to launch Coins far above the arena, allowing for one to use another coin to Ricoshot and hit practically any enemy in the open. This can be used to great effect in The Cyber Grind to target the final enemies in a wave.
- Sadly, due to it being an explosive device, it is illegal to own in California.
- But rules were made to be broken.
- Hakita once tried to parry with the Knuckleblaster, cementing him as a fiend not to be trusted.
